    Live at Lollapalooza

    Who am I?

Hi! I'm Andrea, and I'll be your guide on this musical journey of discovery, reflection, and healing. I’ve been a professional singer/songwriter for almost two decades now in electronica duo Brite Lite Brite. I've always written songs from my personal experiences for healing and reflection, and they've helped me overcome some of the most difficult challenges in my life. They've also led me to some of the most incredible experiences of my life. I'd love to help you learn how you can do the same.

My career highlights include winning the grand prize in the electronic category in the John Lennon Songwriting contest for my song 'Sky Turns Red,' that I wrote as a result of having a difficult time dealing with my grandmother's death and about when she came to me in a dream ten years after her passing. I received semi-finalist placement for three of my songs in the International Songwriting Competition, 'Now That You're Around,' written about my college boyfriend who was optimistic and nothing like my previous boyfriends, 'Radioactive Love,' written about my lifetime patterns of feeling like I never really belonged, and 'He Still Lives with Us,' was a co-write about a friend who passed away while studying at Berklee.

I’ve had the opportunity to perform live among major label artists, M.I.A., Joan Jett, and Ludacris at Virgin Mobile Fest and Mumford & Sons, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, and Ellie Goulding at Lollapalooza as a result of my original songwriting. My song 'I Lost My Heart Tonight' was written about my biggest relationship heartbreak, and it made an impact on the search committee for Lollapalooza who invited my duo to perform an all original set on Perry's Stage after listening to it.

I received a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music (2004) and a Master of Arts in Expressive Therapies (2011) from Lesley University and have led numerous songwriting for healing sessions ever since. I'm also the founder of The Next Octave, a song and sound online healing business.

Tired of trying all of the 'traditional' forms of therapy and to no avail?

    • Using the arts for healing has been around as long as humans have walked on the earth, but we often forget about it in our modern day lives full of countless distractions and the 'traditional' therapy recommendations.

    • Expressing our emotions through song dates back to our earliest ancestors, and the benefits of music are physical and emotional having both short and long term effects. Anyone can incorporate music into their own life without any previous training, and of course you can always build upon your skill-set if you're interested in developing your musical abilities as well.

    • Songwriting is a natural outlet for healing and expression, because its non-direct artistic approach allows you to access your unconscious mind in order to discover, acknowledge, and release your emotions, so they no longer have any control over you.
